Merge
the Physical and Cyber Worlds!
This project involves the transformation and
fusion of multiple data sources from remote sensors and disparate databases
(e.g. radar, GPS, traffic, weather, etc.) in order to correlated data and
match patterns. Skills desired include web-based programming - particularly
javascript, XML, PHP, MySQL and/or .NET programming and Visual Studio.

Additional Information
As previously announced, Raytheon
has become a sponsor of the MIT Data Center.
The first project with the company
involves the application of the M Language, currently under research
and development, to specific prototypes involving data interoperability.
In support of this work, the MIT Data
Center will be hiring two students for the Summer to assist Dave
Brock and Ed Schuster. Dave is lead for this effort and needs two graduate
or undergraduate students who have background in .NET and AJAX.
The work involves doing programming and will require being on site at the
Raytheon facility in Marlboro, MA. Dave will be spending several days per
week there as well.
The following provides further
information about the M Language. The focus in on nine areas:
-- Interoperable data and translation
at the edge of computing systems
-- An interoperable data and
mathematical modeling network
-- Search based on the definition of
a word
-- Language translation
-- Information quality
-- Data aggregation
-- A standard for sensors
-- A standard for spatial data
-- Visualization of data
With these capabilities, the M
Language serves as a base for the intelligent infrastructure of the future.
The approach is flexible and applies to a number of different industrial
situations. We are placing a great deal of emphasis on supply chain
applications.
